When the big day finally arrives you get to dive head first in to the excitement that is the Bendigo Writers Festival. Tomorrow is that day. Whether you read for knowledge, to feel or to escape, the written word brings many together, from all different backgrounds, to enjoy a truly cultural experience.
Today I went over all that is to come and what to expect of the festival, the authors, the readings and the book signings but I don't think anyone can really be prepared for what the event will bring to the table.
Many will go to see their favourite author, to try and get a pic with their idol, to interview them or just to have a chat, just like many will be there to learn about who is out there to inspire them on another level. The exciting thing about any writers festival is the opportunity to open your mind up to authors you didn't know existed, to find out what goes in to the stories that you love and to perhaps inspire a future novelist. What ever the reason you attend the Bendigo Writers Festival for you will be blown away by the amount of talent all in the one place.
